Hey everyone, I’ve just gotten back from the final AMS Presidential debate of this campaign season. Which was an absolute blast. And yet I feel absolutely terrible. You see, dear readers, I promised to eat a spoon full of honey every time that two specific presidential candidates not naming names took shots at each other. AND I DONT BACK DOWN FROM A BIT. I keep my word. So, with the help of my fiancé and love of my life u/sasamats, one of us ate a spoonful of honey every time shots were fired. Though I ate more honey. A lot more. I think like 200 grams. Which feels… not great, health wise. I just feel so constantly lightheaded and ill, but it was so worth it. I’ll probably write about the debate at some time in the future, if my brain still works after so much honey gumming up the works.

Anyways, the main story here is that Barry “Bee” Buzzword campaign art is in. Oops maybe it should have been done sooner but I may have messaged the wrong account for the artist I’m working with. My Bee, as it were.

The absolutely incredible Amilia McGill made these amazing posters and stickers! They simply were not paid enough for how amazing they are, but once I’m not limited by campaign finance rules, I’ll make sure to make up for it :D. Because holy I’m commissioning more stuff from her.

Once I make sure they’ve got the proper election dates/AMS logos to not be a campaign violation, they’ll start showing up on campus! And stickers will also start being a thing. I’m not planning to do that much in person campaigning (probably just next Tuesday, for the most part). But if you want a sticker, drop me a line and I’ll make sure I find a time to get you one :D.

Another Buzzword Mistake

In yesterday’s email, The Nightly Buzz linked to a page on ubussy.ca, claiming it contained a section on disendorsements. For the first 30 minutes after publication, this page had not been updated to include that information. The Nightly Buzz regrets this error.

I Met Some Fans?

I mean… first of all I saw The Ubyssey again. Who, as we all know, is the most kissable organization on campus (Why The Ubyssey is the Most Kissable Organization on Campus (Pt 1)). And I’m not saying they’re flirting back, but…

I also met the inimitable Sam Low! Of ItDoesntWorkDay fame! That’s pretty exciting!

And one other loyal subscriber to The Nightly Buzz (and their friend who isn’t subscribed yet). Y’all took a picture of me, that was pretty cool. Though I will say, I was hoping to find my finance u/sasamats at the fountain, not y’all. I was gonna be their saviour. Rush into the crowd of engineers to protect the one I love.

There was also one person who looked past me and was like “oh hey Drédyn, I’m voting for you,” but had no idea who I was even after I said my name :(. I just don’t have that podcast clout.

Hi u/Bonelander-69. I hope you’re doing well. I’ve had a pretty good night. I proposed to the love of my life in front of my 50 closest friends. I ate simply so much honey. And I had some good conversations with people. I hope your life is going well. I have some fairly limited knowledge about what you like to do in your spare time, given your Reddit history is mostly anti-me, anti-Drédyn, or anti-Ubyssey. But I’m sure you’ve got things that bring you joy and people you care about. I hope you’ve had a chance recently to give those things and people the attention they deserve. It’s a busy time of the year, but now more than ever it’s important to take care of ourselves. Or maybe that’s just the 200g of honey speaking. Anyways, hope you have a good life. These debates have genuinely been the two best days I’ve had in a while! And writing these emails everynight has been very fun, even when they’re a little dumb and poorly written. Wow. The honey made me really sappy. Is this what it’s like to be drunk?
