It is with the deepest sincerity of the heart that I must take this opportunity to apologize to you: the loyal subscribers of The Nightly Buzz. When I created this newsletter, I had intended to deliver on my campaign values of engagement, consultation, and surveys by following in the footsteps of my predecessor Christian “CK” Kyle. I emulated his technique of sending out an email in the middle of the night that were poorly edited and principally about things you do not care about. However, it was in trying to replicate this format that I made a dire mistake, for which I now come hat in hand to apologize for.

When I was building out The Nightly Buzz, I did so under the assumption that all recipients of Christian “CK” Kyle’s email received it at roughly the same time. Thusly, I used the time that my partner received the email—10:30 pm—as the basis for when The Nightly Buzz ought to be delivered. This was a myopic mistake for which I am truly sorry. I assumed that my and my partner’s experience were universal.

In the recent days, I have been speaking to my loyal subscribers and have learned that some people received the email sent by Christian “CK” Kyle over half an hour before my partner did. It was an error not to consult the entire student body about what time they received their email. And it was selfish to base the mailing time of this newsletter on our own experience.

Going forward—as you can see from this email here—the Nightly Buzz will be sent out promptly at 10:03 pm. This serves to honour the experience of those who received their emails from Christian “CK” Kyle much later in the night while stick acknowledging the many for whom the emails arrived much sooner. I hope this is an acceptable compromise. I apologize to all I have hurt, and I promise to #dobetter in the future.

I’ve got haters!

I’m the least popular presidential candidate on Reddit!

I’ve also got a little bit of hate mail (though, to be honest, I’m not sure how much is directed at me, and how much is just using me to take a dig at my opponent Drédyn Fontana).

Hate is obviously a bit of a strong word. Mild dislike or indifference would be more accurate. But still, exciting, we’re moving up in the world! I added u/Bonelander-69 to my new list of disendorsements on my website. Hopefully I can populate that page with lots of them before the elections are through!

Looking Forward

Lots of exciting things to look forward to in the world of Barry “Bee” Buzzword. Art commissions are coming in soon from the incredible Amelia McGill. Hopefully I’ll be able to send that art out to you folks tomorrow or the day after.

The Final Presidential Debate is tomorrow at 6:40pm in the David Suzuki Pit for Sustainability. Note that it was moved 20 minutes earlier. This is going to be an incredibly exciting time. You should be there! Or zoom in! Or join u/sasamats’ Twitch stream! Hopefully The Ubyssey continues flirting back with me 😳.
